Just since you already have a Pokémon in your Pokedex does not suggest it's not worth catching. Attaching a lure to a Pokémon GO PokéStop in Camden Park South Australia 5038 is an excellent way to capture a heap of in a brief quantity of time. When Pokémon appear, they appear for everyone and can be captured by every person in your location.
For me, the game is the only aspect of the Pokemon phenomena that excites me. I think they have a half-baked story full of interesting but extremely small Pokemon that doesn't make much sense or goes anywhere.
Pokemon is a phenomenon and children are going insane over it. What is it about a computer game that has taken off this large? It even has celestial epochs: we're now in the Age of the Pokemon Black and White. But most of the children buying these goods aren't even really playing the video game itself! That appears to be another happening entirely (for Nintendo, number two behind Super Mario).
Now, my son also is not a big fan of the story; I am not sure what it's about Pokemon that fascinates him so much (I can not help but think that kids are infusing their imagination into the narrative and are maybe secret 'trainers,' a modern equivalent to the dragon slayer). In any case, he loves the Pokemon plush toys (plushies or Pokemon stuffed toys) though I'm not sure why. Maybe to get a Pokemon stuffed toy will be to kind of capture one with a Pokeball. In any case, I'm neither a stingy or indulgent parent, which typically means that though he may want a plushie, he won't get one and ends up settling for cards.
Also, the traffic to APKMirror has come from all around the globe, with the US only accounting for 10.8% of the website's desktop traffic over the last 28 days. After the US, users in Brazil are leading the charge to download Pokemon GO via an app and are responsible for 8.2% of APKMirror's traffic over the same span.
He adores the card game however and will get me to buy him the Pokemon Black and White cards whenever he can. These have not arrived in used shops in numbers, but he can still get his hands on (and spend his allowance) Legendary Pokemon cards, promo Pokemon cards, and holofoil cards. He and his buddies can spend an extreme hour or two on card gaming, though they don't look so interested in the console game (that's more up my alley).
Regardless, Pokemon is trendy and times and preferences have changed. It seems we live in an age in which morals, good, evil, and heroism are much more blurred than we 'simpler' kids were. We merely wanted to see the bad guy get it- not monsters fight it out in tournaments. Perhaps kids are more advanced these days. I do know that as a science fiction fan I do believe Pokemon has possible, though by capitalizing on that they'd likely alienate their audience.
When I was the kid, Japan was obviously not selling video games, but they were writing and creating animation in addition to play. And what little of it got to America I as a little girl even loved. First, there was Ultraman. The monsters were grotesque, Ultraman himself was a hero but horrible too, and it was pure good vs. evil. Creatures came from outer space and Ultraman protected mankind from them. I recall one cunning monster that was the size of the small person and was covered with long strands of odd hair (difficult to explain). But even that monster, though likable, was pretty nasty. My generation is pretty much figured that monsters should be horrible. Pokemon appears like they lack creature hormones or something. Just to mention it, there was also Speed Racer (great story- who can forget Spridal and Chim Chim- and who was Racer X actually?). The Mach 5 was way cool. What little girl would not like that? Ashes can not hold a candlewick to Speed!
As a Mother, I am not overly worried about leaving him alone at the Pokemon Center to window shop for himself. This being Japan. Nevertheless, I am worried about him becoming lost in the huge crowds.
It is believed that women love to shop, and guys do not but that equation doesn't contain children and hobbyists. Getting my son out of the Pokemon Center, and hoping that he will forget that there is a Pokemon Center, are hopeless prospects. Pokemon is certainly a success.
Outside of the US, users around the world have been trying to download Pokemon GO using an app, avoiding the official app store. Since the app's launch, traffic to apkmirror.com exploded, increasing from just over 600,000 visits on July 5th to over 4 million visits on July 6th.
This traffic to APKMirror came mostly via Organic Search Traffic and over the 28 day period from June 10th to July 7th, 19.6% of desktop search traffic came from the search term "Pokemon go ask". In total, 30.5% of all desktop search traffic over this period came from searches with the term "Pokemon" in them.
For my middle aged generation, the attractiveness of Pokemon is a bit difficult for me to get a grasp on. If Pikachu is cute, then why is he capable of such destructive force? And if he's so lethal, then why is he so cute? But I must retract all that really, for I can't find Pokemon in their animated incarnation to be either cute or trendy. Perhaps for my generation, Pokemon just do not have an allure to us. We can not figure out what they stand for.
