Just because you already have a Pokémon in your Pokedex doesn't mean it's not worth capturing. Connecting a lure to a Pokémon GO PokéStop in Brimboal Victoria 3312 is a terrific method to capture a load of in a short amount of time. When Pokémon appear, they appear for everyone and can be caught by every person in your location.
In Go, Pokemon has just two moves, a conventional move, and a specific move. Unlike in other games in the series, a Pokemon's moves can't be altered, and are assigned randomly. The moves will even shift at random again upon evolution.
When Razz Berries are fed to wild Pokemon, they are less likely to run away and escape Pokeballs. Lure Modules are like incense but more potent and can be attached to PokeStops for half an hour, making PokeStops great areas to find Pokemon.
Each gym has a level, which corresponds to the amount of Pokemon that can be used to defend it. So a degree 5 gym can have five different Defending Pokemon.
Gyms in the Pokemon universe are partially about training, but mostly about cred. The goal would be to stake a claim for your team and create a gym that's tough to defend.
At level 9, players start getting Lucky Eggs. At level 12, they will gather the more powerful Great Balls, which increase the chance of capturing a wild Pokemon. T level 20, they begin getting the even more effective Ultra Balls.

But that is only the beginning, as this doesn't necessarily give the gym over to you; it only reduces its stature amount. You will need to keep defeating the entire gym until its prestige gets all the way to zero, at which point the gym will become grey, and you will be able to move in.
Each gym is commanded by one of these three teams. Because it's still so early in Pokemon Go, there's a lot of turnover in gym control, especially in densely inhabited areas, so don't worry too much about choosing the "best" team in your place. But if other huge online games are any guide, dominant political powers will eventually appear.
Pokestops are marked on the game's map with a floating blue cube. Patting them will reveal more details about the landmark, including a photo. If the app looks you are close enough, swipe the picture of the landmark to whirl it, and it'll spit out three or more items. When you maintain things from a PokeStop, the icon turns from blue to purple, but PokeStops refresh about every five minutes in order to return to accumulate more things.
When you enter a gym for the very first time, you'll be asked to swear allegiance to a team, each represented by a colour and a feature: Yellowish (Instinct), Blue (Mystic), and Red (Valor). Selecting a special team does not appear to make any difference to your individual nature, but that could change in future versions of the game.
At level 5, players start collecting Potions, Revive, and Incense. Potions and Restore both aid injured Pokemon. Restore brings Pokemon that has fainted back to life, while Potions heal feeble Pokemon by raising their HP. Incense is used to entice wild Pokemon out.
The damage is merely a number that lets you know how much hurt it puts on your competitors. Higher energy requirements mean a particular move will take longer to prepare. The kind is where more strategy is included, as some Pokemon can balance weaknesses of their type with edges in their own moves.
Pokemon Go is based on another popular Niantic game called Ingress. Both titles motivate players to explore the world around them, rewarding them with virtual pieces when they reach real life landmarks highlighted by the app. In Ingress, these stages of interests are called portals; in Pokemon Go, they are called Pokestops.

A dragon might have the ability to do both Fire and Flying moves. And so on. As you build your team, consult a list of Pokemon kinds (like this one) and ensure you aren't greatly exposed to any one type and have a favorable matchup against any possible sort. (There are also more out there strategies like using only Standard-type Pokemon, which have only one susceptibility, but we'll leave that aside for now.)
For players who are just getting started, most of the items accessible at PokeStops are Pokeballs and the occasional egg.
